Police: Woman tampered with baby food

Officials believe incident at Florida market is isolated to that one store

A woman was caught injecting foul-smelling liquid into baby food in a Florida supermarket, authorities said Wednesday.

50-year-old Shirley Ybarra was spotted Tuesday night by Publix employees adding a black liquid that smelled like ammonia to the baby food and juice containers, the local sheriff's department said.

Exotic Dancer Set on Fire Was Recently Laid Off

An exotic dancer who was set on fire in a brutal attack outside a Tarzana bar had recently returned to dancing full-time after being laid off from an office job, a friend of the victim said.

The 27-year-old mother of two was called out of the Babes N' Beer nightclub at 18454 Oxnard St. around 1:30 a.m. Thursday by two suspects who then doused her with gasoline and set her ablaze, said Los Angeles police Deputy Chief Michael Moore.

Family seeks to clear man who died in prison

The family of Timothy Cole, a Texas man who died in prison nearly a decade ago while serving a sentence for a rape he swore he did not commit, is hoping a court will issue the state's first posthumous exoneration.

Cole was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 1985 rape of 20-year-old Michele Mallin. He maintained his innocence, but it was not confirmed by DNA until years after his 1999 death, when another inmate confessed to the rape.
